Today, I wanted to share a technique that I discovered for achieving a relatively painless injection. I know that the fear of injections can be daunting, but with a few simple steps, we can make the experience a little more comfortable. This guide is specifically for subcutaneous injections*.
Step 1: Finding the Optimal Injection Site: Start by gently tapping different regions of your belly with your finger until you find a spot where you can barely feel the tapping. This may take a bit of exploration, but I find that I feel the least about 3 inches either side of the navel.
Step 2: Sterilizing the Injection Area: Once you have identified the desired injection site, it's essential to ensure proper hygiene. Thoroughly clean the area with an alcohol swab. This step helps reduce the risk of infection.
Step 3: Positioning the Needle: When preparing the syringe, face the hole of the needle upwards. By doing so, you can decrease the initial surface area breaking through the skin, making the overall process feel less uncomfortable.
